Lee Kang-in (22-PSG) has been featured on La Liga’s official social media. It’s unusual for a player who has left La Liga to be highlighted again.
On Sunday (July 17), La Liga’s social media account posted: “Lee Kang-in is an incredibly talented player. Let’s remember his best moments (in La Liga),” the post read, adding a flag emoji. Below that, he included a three-minute highlight video of Lee. The video shows Lee’s performances for Mallorca and Valencia in Spain.
Lee has been playing for Valencia’s youth team in Spain since 2011. In 2017, he was called up to the Valencia B team, and in 2018, he was promoted to the Valencia first team. He’s a midfield prodigy that Valencia has pampered. He made his La Liga debut in 2018-19 and played for Valencia for three seasons until 2020-21, scoring three goals and providing four assists in 62 appearances.
In the summer of 2021, he moved to Mallorca. This was because he didn’t meet Valencia’s quota of non-EU players. At the time, he was worried, but it turned out to be a great opportunity. He became a regular in the starting lineup at Mallorca and became one of the best midfielders in La Liga.
In his first season with Mallorca, Lee made 30 La Liga appearances, scoring one goal and providing two assists. In his second season, he made 36 appearances, scoring six goals and adding seven assists. He showed his talent in a variety of positions, including attacking midfielder, left winger, right winger, and striker.
Eventually, in the summer of 2023, he moved to the French top flight, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). PSG paid a buyout of €22 million (approx. KRW 310 million) and guaranteed a salary of €4 million (approx. KRW 5.6 billion) to acquire Lee. The contract runs for five years until 2028.
PSG is looking beyond France’s top club to Europe’s top club. They aim to win the UEFA Champions League (UCL) and attract the best players in the world every year. Their current roster includes Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele (France), Marquinhos (Brazil), Marco Asensio (Spain), and Gianluigi Donnarumma (Italy).
Until last season, Lionel Messi (Argentina), Neymar (Brazil), and Sergio Ramos (Spain) played for PSG. Prior to that, Edinson Cavani (Uruguay), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Sweden), Thiago Silva (Brazil), David Beckham (England), and Ronaldinho (Brazil) played for PSG.레모나토토 주소
Lee Kang-in joins this list. Lee has made nine appearances in a PSG shirt this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist. He scored his debut goal in a 3-0 win over AC Milan in the Champions League group stage, followed by an assist in a 3-2 win over Ligue 1 Brest and a goal in a 3-0 win over Montpellier.
PSG head coach Luis Enrique said: “He is an outstanding player. He can play multiple positions,” said PSG coach Luis Enrique. “I’m surprised to see him on the training ground, he rarely loses the ball. As a PSG coach, I trust and rely on him.”
He has also expanded his role with the South Korean national team. He has scored in each of his last three A matches. He scored two goals in a 4-0 win over Tunisia, one goal and an assist in a 6-0 win over Vietnam, and added another in a 5-0 win over Singapore on Sept. 16. He is now one of South Korea’s best midfielders as a youngster.
