Reporter Jaehyun Han = The Jeonju and Ulsan competitions of the ‘2023 Gatorade 5v5 Women’s Competition’, Korea’s best pure amateur futsal competition, will be held on the 28th (Saturday) at HM Futsal Park Ulsan Buk-gu Branch and Jeonju Branch. This is the last regional preliminary round held this year.
This competition is hosted by sports marketing company HNS Co., Ltd. and Gatorade participates as a partner. The middle school students’ competition was successfully completed in the first half of this year, and the women’s competition in the second half of the year will be held in a total of eight regions.
The top team in each regional preliminary competition is eligible to participate in the national championship. While 24 teams participating in the championship were decided in the six previous competitions, the final eight (teams that advanced to the semifinals of each competition) will be selected for the upcoming Ulsan and Jeonju competitions.
Among the teams participating in this year’s Jeonju regional preliminaries, last year’s winning team, Class A Futsal Club, stands out. Coach Ahn Kwang-soo said, “Last year, the game went better than expected and we won easily, but this year, the player lineup has changed a lot. To use a metaphor, it is the team rebuilding stage. “I hope that this will be an opportunity for participating players to love futsal even more by having fun playing and gaining experience rather than just getting good grades,” he said.
Tiki Taka FS is attracting attention in the Ulsan regional preliminaries held on the same day. Tiki Taka FS, based in Daegu, is a team with a relatively short history, having been officially founded in May of last year. However, it finished second in the Daegu Metropolitan Mayor’s Cup, which took place just one month after its founding, and won the Miryang Arirang Cup last May. Chairman Bang Woori said, “Although the team has a short history, I am confident that it is a top-ranked team in the Daegu area. Although it is my first time participating in a Gatorade competition, my goal is to win. “In addition, we will obtain the right to participate in the championship and promote our team beyond the Gyeongsang Province region and throughout the country,” he said, expressing his determination.
Teams that advanced through the preliminaries to the finals will compete in the national championship in Siheung on November 4 to determine the winner of the national competition.메이저놀이터
The ‘2023 Gatorade 5v5 Women’s Tournament’ is open to anyone who is not registered as a player with the Korea Football Association. Applications for participation in the Jeonju and Ulsan competitions, where the last championship qualification is at stake, can be made on the HM Futsal Park website.
