LG Twins left-handed pitcher Ham Deok-ju is headed straight to the Korean Series.
After clinching the pennant race, LG is playing the rest of the schedule at full strength. This is part of a two-pronged strategy to maintain the dignity of a champion by going all out in a fierce standings battle, and to improve their performance before the Korean Series.
Below the surface, the puzzle to win the Korean Series is well underway. The same goes for Hamdeokju, who has been training in silence. LG manager Yeom Kyung-yeop said, “He’s been pitching in the bullpen every two to three days to stay in shape. He’s fit to play, but he’s not using it.”
Ham has been one of the mainstays of the LG bullpen this season. In 57 games, he had a 4-4 record with 16 saves and a 1.62 ERA. After being placed on the disabled list on Aug. 26 against the NC Dinos with elbow pain, he worked hard to rehabilitate and get back in shape for the Korean Series. He recently started pitching out of the bullpen at Jamsil Stadium. He hasn’t been enrolled in the first team, but has been resting and training with the squad.메이저놀이터
This is expected to continue for the remainder of the series. “It’s best to keep him safe until he’s ready for the Korean Series,” Yeom said.
Yeom also revealed that he plans to make room for younger prospects in the Korean Series roster. “I’m going to go with two outfielders and one pitcher who are young players that the club needs to develop in terms of experience regardless of whether they play or not,” he said.
