Seattle pulls off dramatic upset…Toronto Magic No. 2 ‘in place’

The Seattle Mariners came from behind to win in dramatic fashion.

The Mariners won a 3-2 home game against the Texas Rangers at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, Washington, on Monday night.

It was a dramatic win. Trailing 1-2 heading into the top of the ninth inning, the Mariners took advantage of a faltering Aroldis Chapman to close out the game.

Carl Lally and Dylan Moore led off with back-to-back singles and a wild pitch put runners on second and third.

Chapman walked Ty Prance to load the bases before eventually retiring the side.

Back-to-back walks to Mike Ford and Josh Rojas against reliever Jonathan Hernandez deepened the deficit, but J.P. Crawford ended the game in dramatic fashion with a line drive to left field to plate both runners.

It was Crawford’s fourth career game-winning hit. It was also his first game-winning hit with the team trailing.

The outcome of the game also had implications for the Toronto Blue Jays across the continent.온라인바카라

Toronto’s magic number to clinch a postseason berth remained at two.

They still have one more day to clinch a postseason spot on the 30th. First, they need to beat the Tampa Bay Rays outright.

After that, they’ll have to wait for the results from across the continent. If Seattle loses to Texas, or if the Houston Astros lose to the Arizona Diamondbacks, they’re in.

A Houston loss would clinch it, as it would give them a two-game lead over the Astros with two games left. Toronto has the better head-to-head record against Houston, so they will advance in the event of a tie.

Toronto players have been up until the wee hours of the morning in some cases, watching games in the West and then popping the champagne caps.

One way or another, a postseason berth is precious. “It doesn’t matter what form it takes,” head coach John Schneider said.
